When people think of Arizona, they often picture towering saguaros and endless desert landscapes. While those iconic views are certainly part of the experience, there's so much more to discover when you venture into the Sonoran Desert.
One of the most recognizable landmarks in Arizona, the Four Peaks rise dramatically above the desert floor and can be seen from miles away. Located within the Four Peaks Wilderness in the Tonto National Forest, these rugged peaks reach elevations of over 7,600 feet. One of the most memorable parts of our off-road adventure is just how close you feel to Four Peaks throughout the entire tour. Because our route runs along the edge of the Tonto National Forest, the peaks stay in view almost the entire time
To the south, the famous Superstition Mountains dominate the horizon. Many people don't realize the Superstitions were shaped by massive volcanic activity thousands of years ago. These mountains are one of Arizona's most photographed natural landmarks. The mountains sit within the vast Tonto National Forest, one of the largest national forests in Arizona.
On clear days, the McDowell Mountain Range can also be seen across the northeast. These mountains help frame the vast Sonoran Desert landscape and remind visitors just how diverse Arizona's terrain truly is.
There's something special about leaving the pavement behind and exploring the Arizona backcountry. The combination of mountain vistas, desert wildlife, and untouched landscapes creates an experience that's difficult to find anywhere else.
If you're looking for an adventure that showcases the true beauty of Arizona, the trails surrounding Four Peaks offer some of the most scenic views in the state—and we're excited to share them with you.
